This is a close-up of the Chelicerae or the forward pincers of a horseshoe crab

This is an extreme close-up of the Chelicerae or the forward pincers of a female horseshoe crab.

While these pinchers do look a little menacing, they do not have any real strength and are not sharp like you would expect from a crab.

They can not harm you with these pincers, they are used to pick up food from the bottom and guide it towards the horseshoe crabs mouth.
