I have many horseshoe crab shells (molts) available for purchase. Below are the details.
These horseshoe crab shells were collected around Mosquito Lagoon on the east coast of Florida, just a couple miles from the JFK Space Center along the Atlantic Ocean. The shells were found empty, There is no body or legs in these shells. The shells have been cleaned and I have used a preservative on them to add strength and to help make them shine.
The shells do not have any noticeable odor so they are ready to hang on the wall for a nautical look or can be used for science projects. No horseshoe crabs were harmed in any way, these shells are shed by the horseshoe crabs during their growth cycles.
Typically these shells are between 5 and 7 inches across the body and between 12 and 16 inches measuring from the tip of the head to the tip of the tail. I sell these shells for $12.00 each.
If you prefer a certain size outside of this range, send me an email at david@horseshoe-crabs.com and I will see if I can find one that meets your specifications.
